While AWS is moving to a "Cloud Financial Management" direction, Google is fully adopting FinOps. This is great news for FinOps engineers that will have the recognition of a major cloud player that invest in the cost optimization pillar.
As a Subject Matter Expert for Cloud Financial Management on AWS, I'm happy to know that FinOps is also being recognized as a cloud culture and is part of the major clouds direction to jump on board this amazing train.
I'm sure that in the future we'll see more and more initiatives from the major players that focuses on cloud cost optimizations and best practices. The future is very exciting :) For more information [Google] https://cloud.google.com/architecture/framework/cost-optimization/finops?hl=en [AWS CFM] https://aws.amazon.com/aws-cost-management/

I liked how the article explained how FinOps and AWS financial engineering are helping teams manage cloud costs with clear data, because it made a complex topic easier to follow even for someone not in tech. I remember a time when my finals felt impossible and I used I need someone to take my exam support because the stress was too much, and that helped me balance study and wellbeing. It showed me that good help can really lift a heavy load.
